The Ridgecliff Foundation, which has provided instrumental support of the aftercare coordinator position since it began in 2007, has provided Project Hope with a grant that will continue their support in the coming year.
“We are very grateful to the trustees of the Ridgecliff Foundation for recognizing the connection between mental health, substance addiction and homelessness, and continuing to support our efforts for those guests working through those issues once they leave Project Hope,” said Executive Director Judy Burr. “Through the aftercare program, many individual adults and parents have been able to maintain the positive successes they achieved by improving their lives while at the shelter and continuing to progress once they have moved into their own housing situation. Our aftercare coordinator, Tonya Deering, does an outstanding job working with former shelter guests to help them meet social, physical and emotional needs that could become barriers to their success.”
As the temperatures rise, so does the risk of skin cancer, heat stroke dehydration and other heat-related illnesses among the adults and children experiencing homelessness in our county, who are outside during the day.

Project Hope for the Homeless would like to thank the members of the Western Reserve Junior Service League for recently funding two grants for the shelter: the first helped Project Hope purchase panic buttons to help shelter staff contact emergency resources when needed even faster than before; the second provided funds for Project Hope to purchase mattress covers for shelter beds.
We appreciate their continued support and dedication to the community through the grant program. Learn more about the Western Reserve Junior Service League here.
